Wrapped Automobile (Project for 1950 Studebaker Champion, Series 9 G Coupe) is one of the most significant works of his career in multiples. Renowned master printer Jack Lemon, founder of Landfall Press, helped Christo develop a technique that allowed him to add actual wrapped elements to his lithographs, thereby bringing the artist’s intimate process of adorning objects with cloth and twine to encourage us to consider their beauty more profoundly. This Studebaker was Jack Lemon’s own car, and is one of the most coveted Christo works to collect. Turner Carroll Gallery is proud to represent both the Christo family collection of prints and multiples, as well as the Landfall Press Archive. All print documentation is available.
