Italian artist Francesco Fossati’s Scultura Bacche Nere [Black Berries Sculpture] is a small three-dimensional work made with a combination of carefully boiled paper and an assortment of black berries. The resulting dough was modeled using a plastic crate originally intended for vegetables that impressed several faces of the work with a geometric, gridded pattern. The vegetal materials compiled to create the sculpture were previously used for the production of another work from the artist’s Organic Pictures series. Thus, the artwork itself is essentially “re-cycled.”
