Crowning Quilt 8 of 9 features drawing, hand-painting, and color specifications by Judy Chicago, with Dianne Barber and Rebecca Hanner collaborating with the batik and embroidery portions of the work.

This work is accompanied by multiple didactic educational panels describing childbirth in America. It has been featured in numerous museum exhibitions, including her “Birth Project” exhibition at the Harwood Art Museum in Taos, New Mexico.
