Nick Cave’s Head Dressed lithograph is a 9-color unframed lithograph printed with Landfall Press in 2019, for Expo Chicago. This print is the cancellation proof from the edition. It has special significance because Jack Lemon, founder of Landfall Press, also founded Art Chicago, the original art fair in Chicago. Nick Cave is one of the most well known contemporary Black American artists. He has had solo exhibitions in major museums, including. Guggenheim Museum, Brooklyn Museum, MCA Chicago, MASS MoCA, and Institute of Contemporary Art, Boston, and his works are included in the permanent collections of MoMA, the Hirshhorn, and National Gallery of Victoria, among multiple others. Cave’s works have sold for six figures at auction, and are widely sought after to collect.
