Christo Vladimirov Javacheff (Bulgaria, 1935-2020) and Jeanne-Claude Denat de Guillebon (Morocco, 1935-2009) were a world-renowned artistic couple known for monumental, temporary environmental installations like wrapping buildings (Reichstag), creating vast fabric fences (Running Fence), and deploying thousands of umbrellas (The Umbrellas). Born on the same day, they later met in Paris, becoming famous for their large-scale, sometimes controversial, works that temporarily altered landscapes and structures, funded solely by selling their preparatory drawings and models, making their art independent and accessible before it vanished
