“In the 1960s, the Marchese Annibale Berlingieri from Rome was an important collector of contemporary art. While visiting his country villa in Taranto, Christo noticed that the Marchese had an ancient carriage on the property. Christo proposed wrapping the carriage with fabric and created a spontaneous sculpture, to the delight of the Marchese. Christo created a lithograph of the sculpture which was editioned then collaged with fabric.” – Artsy
