Hung Liu - Red Plum III

Hung Liu – Red Plum III

In this exhibition, Hung explores the way the washes and drips dissolve the photo-based images, suggesting the passage of memory into history, while working to uncover the cultural and personal narratives fixed—but often concealed—in the photographic instant. A very important Chinese-American artist, her permanent collections include the Fine Arts Museums of San Francisco, Dallas Museum of Art, Brooklyn Museum of Art, Los Angeles County Museum of Art, and The Whitney Museum of American Art, among others.

Opening Reception Friday, August 5, 2011 from 5 to 7pm.
