Night Tomatoe by famed New Mexico artist Carol Anthony is part of her body of oil pastel drawings and paintings done for the Pranzo restaurant in Santa Fe. Carol Anthony is best known for her cartoonish papier-mache sculptures, one of which was acquired by the Smithsonian collection. Later in her career, she turned to painting simple still-lifes using thinned out oil pastels. These oil pastel paintings focus on luminosity and simplicity.
