Light, you awoke to dawn, a streak of memory
Falling from the sun, running earth in white
To follow ancestors of mist and radiance
Along a race of hills in their gold
Navigation of the sky.
From what temptation did you escape,
Instilling your flight in this heartland
To dance with the wind,
To shape your evading mistress?
Where will you return after your pilgrimage
That bred families to magic and travels
You pursued in the continuity of disappearance?
Are you a mirage that marvels purpose
Claiming believers that ally themselves
To your passage,
Or a dream enacted between heaven and earth
To succumb to an ocean reborn,
A reincarnation of time
Arresting infinity
Along the mind’s transparent frontiers.
