“I am painting the poetry of place rather than the place,” says Kathryn Lynch. “It’s a boat anywhere, its a sky for everyone. It’s nowhere and everywhere.” With this philosophy, Lynch captures fleeting moments found on long walks, meditations, and observational stints in her New York neighborhood. She uses loose brush strokes that are warm and colorful, bringing a life and joy to elements of her natural surrounding.
