This portfolio of 12 images plus Introduction and end pages is enclosed in a pink linen portfolio designed by Nadya Tolokonnikova, founder of the Russian artist activist collective Pussy Riot. The images document actions of artistic protest the group organized in Russia from 2011-2014. It also includes images of Tolokonnikova’s court trial, which led to herself and other members of the group being imprisoned in a Siberian labor camp for two years.
This portfolio includes an end page with links to videos of each of the performative actions, and can be considered a multimedia exhibition of the most impactful years of the group’s work in Russia. The Getty Research Institute holds this portfolio in its archive, as well as Tolokonnikova’s entire prison archive.
