Olivia began her formal art studies in watercolor and oil painting in 1976 and quickly became interested in other techniques such as ceramics, wood carving, gold plating and restoration. It was this search in the art arena that allowed her to fully express her artistic talent in three-dimensional media: clay, cement, fiberglass, resins, marble and bronze.
She initiated her studies under the academic guidance of Saúl Moreno and Cristina Molina, and later on under the invaluable direction of Hermilo Castañeda and Jorge de Santiago at the World renowned art schools “Academia de San Carlos” and “La Esmeralda” in Mexico City, respectively.
For over 40 years of artistic creation, Olivia Guzmán has shown her art in over 130 individual and collective exhibits, mainly in Mexico, USA and Europe. She has received multiple awards and her work has been displayed in important spaces such as The Latin American Cultural Center Museum in South Corea.
Her art is treasured by more than 80 international art collectors in Indonesia, Malta, Santiago de Chile, the Grand Cayman Islands, Switzerland, Israel, Bulgaria, the United States, Canada and Mexico, and has won acclaim from both critics and private art collectors.
Her artistic journey is a profound manifestation of human communication through the universal language of art.
